A rotary reciprocating piston and a pump using the same are provided to reciprocate the piston at a uniform velocity and decrease the surging according to the formation of the conversion unit. A rotary reciprocating piston comprises a cylinder(10) having left and right cylinder heads(12) combined with cylinder blocks(11); a conversion unit(20) having a piston placed at the cylinder and installed to rotate and to move forwardly and reversely, a rod(15) mounted at more than one side of the piston, a guider(21) projected to the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder block, and a groove(22) formed like a closed curve at the outer peripheral surface of the piston and combined with the guider; and a power transfer unit(30) combined at one part of the rod to absorb shock of the reciprocating distance of the piston.
