PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance rigidity with respect to bending moment applied to a tilt mechanism and a telescopic mechanism. SOLUTION: The tilt mechanism 5 and the telescopic mechanism 6 which attach a housing 2 storing and supporting a steering shaft 1 to a bracket 4 are equipped with a long hole 5a for tilting one and a long hole 6a for telescopic one, engagement bodies 13, 13 having a first and second engagement parts 13a, 13b engaging with the long hole 5a for tilting one and the long hole 6a for telescopic one respectively, and a clamping shaft 14 which passes through the engagement bodies 13, 13 and clamps the housing 2 to the bracket 4. The length in the direction along the long hole 5a for tilting one of the first engagement part 13a is made to be longer than the width of the long hole 6a for telescopic one, and the length in the direction along the long hole 6a for telescopic one of the second engagement part 13b is made to be longer than the width of the long hole 5a for tilting one.
