PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an once-through boiler for a simple and compact steam washing machine stably generating steam. SOLUTION: Upper outlet elbow pipes of a plurality of once-through boiler pipes 1 are connected with a central side face of a steam-water separator 2, and lower portions are directly connected with a header at a lower portion of the steam-water separator 2 by a circulation water pipe 3 branched from the header. An upper limit position of a liquid level detector 16 of the steam-water separator 2 is set so that a free liquid level is formed in the outlet elbow pipe of the once-through boiler pipe 1. A timer device is mounted for switching off a water supply pump after the upper limit is detected, and switching on the water supply pump again after a specific time.
