PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood processing method capable of molding wood without cracking the same even in a case that a change in the shape of the wood before and after compression is large, a wood processing retaining mold and a wood processing apparatus. SOLUTION: When compression force is applied to the wood to be processed, a region, on which compression force acts, of the wood is compressed while gradually widened from the central part of the wood to the peripheral edge part thereof. At this time, the wood is held between the wood processing retaining mold, of which the contact part with the surface of the wood comprises a material having at least one property of viscosity and elasticity, and a predetermined mold to apply compression force to the wood.
