PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnosing system which can display the position, the size, and the direction of an ultrasonic tomogram in a body cavity in a manner to be easy to understand. SOLUTION: This ultrasonic diagnosing system 1 constructs the ultrasonic tomogram 53 based on an ultrasonic echo signal being output from an ultrasonic endoscope 2 which is inserted in the body cavity of a subject 8, and comprises an ultrasonic oscillator 18 on the distal end. The ultrasonic diagnosing system 1 comprises position/direction detecting section 3 which detects the position and the direction of the ultrasonic tomogram 53, an auxiliary image preparing circuit 41 which prepares an auxiliary image 54 indicating the position and the direction of the ultrasonic tomogram 53, a monitor 5 which displays the auxiliary image 54 and the ultrasonic tomogram 53, and an operating device 6 which changes the display setting of the ultrasonic tomogram 53. The auxiliary image preparing circuit 41 updates the auxiliary image 54 one by one based on the change of the display setting of the ultrasonic tomogram 53. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
