PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil filter for an automatic transmission which can suppress an early clogging of filter element. SOLUTION: This oil filter 1A comprises: a casing 2 having an oil inlet 9 communicating with a filtration chamber S and the filtration chamber, and an oil outlet 8; a filter element 3 arranged inside the filter chamber of the casing; and a pre-filter element 4, arranged at an upstream of the main filter element of the filter chamber of the casing, having coarser stitch than that of the main filter element simultaneously.
