A burglar alarm system and a method using the same are provided to report invading of a burglar by using a short message service of a CDMA module. A burglar alarm system includes a sensor, a decision unit(52), an alarm unit(54), and a reception unit(200). The sensor is for sensing the movement of an object and calculating the traveling distance of the object. The decision unit compares the traveling distance with a predetermined threshold distance in order to decide the invading of a burglar. The alarm unit forms alarm data according to the result of the decision unit. The reception unit receives the alarm data. The decision unit and the alarm unit are at least one of a CDMA communication module and a short distance communication module. |
