<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can allow a user conducting the outputting of an image to surely collect a sheet having the image formed thereon and can prevent the sheet from being left as it is. <P>SOLUTION: When a device controller 7 performs forming of an image according to image data received from external devices PC1, PC2 connected to a network NW, it carries out authentication processing of a user based on identification information received together with the image data. When the authentication is completed, the device controller 7 allows a CPU 80 to convert a user name of the authenticated user and job information registered in an HDD 81 corresponding to the user name to code information, and then synthesizes the produced code information to a predetermined area of the image data received from the external devices PC1, PC2.
