METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a plasma display panel by which a stable high-speed writing can be performed and image display quality is improved by suppressing an increase in black display region luminance.

SOLUTION: The number of sub-fields which perform all cell initialization for generating initialization discharge to all discharge cells for displaying an image in the plurality of sub-fields by applying a gradually increasing voltage to the scanning electrode, is increased or decreased based on an average picture level (APL) of an image signal to be displayed, and a maximum value of the gradually increasing voltage is changed according to increase or decrease of the number of sub-fields for performing all cell initialization.
