PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the displacement of a large-diameter cylindrical portion fastened to an outer member through a fastening band, and the shortening of a service life of a boot for a coupling in a constant velocity joint. SOLUTION: A band caulking ratio is controlled within a prescribed range in caulking the large-diameter cylindrical portion 20 to the outer member 16 through a first fastening band 26. Thus fastening force (bearing pressure) per a unit area of the first fastening band 26 can be kept within a proper range regardless of the dimension of an outer diameter of the outer member 16. That is, by controlling the band caulking ratio within the prescribed range, proper bearing pressure can be achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
