A method for testing a communication device, comprising the steps of transmitting and receiving a test signal produced based on a reference clock; generating, based on the reference clock, an expected value of the test signal; delaying the test signal; comparing the delayed test signal with the expected value to output a comparison result; changing delay times to repeat the foregoing steps and store each comparison result for a respective delay time; determining, based on the comparison results for the respective delay times, the eye aperture ratio of the test signal; and performing, based on the determined eye aperture ratio, a failure/no-failure test on the communication device.
