<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module in which a fault factor is easily analyzed. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module 10 monitors parameters relating to its own operation state or operation environments. This optical module comprises: detection parts 12, 16, 18, 36, 38 for detecting parameters as occasion demands; a maximum/minimum value storage part 26 for storing at least either the maximum value or the minimum value of detected parameters; and a maximum/minimum value updating part 30 for comparing a detected parameter with at least either the maximum value or the minimum value stored in the maximum/minimum value storage part and updating the maximum value or the minimum value as needed. When the parameter exceeds the maximum value, the maximum/minimum value updating part rewrites the maximum value into the parameter and when the parameter is below the minimum value, the minimum value is rewritten into the parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
