PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of transferring received data without missing any of the data and provided with a single RAM for temporarily storing the data. SOLUTION: A reduction processing section 5 applies reduction processing to image data imaged by a sensor section 2. While a display section 4 is reading data related to a preceding frame written in the RAM 7, the data subjected to the reduction processing by the reduction processing section 5 are outputted to a buffer 6. After a read access from the display section 4 to the RAM 7 is finished, the data subjected to the reduction processing by the reduction processing section 5 are outputted to the RAM 7. Further, for a period when the reduction processing section 5 applies no write access to the RAM 7 because the reduction processing section 5 executes the reduction processing, the data after the reduction processing stored in the buffer 6 are transferred to the RAM 7.
