PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably decode data even in an environment involving variations in carrier frequency, variations in pulse width and pulse rise/fall timing, and the like. SOLUTION: A pulse width is measured, and according to the measured pulse width value, determination processing for a 1-bit length pulse width or determination processing for a 1/2-bit length pulse width is selected for execution. In consideration of bit data just before a bit to be determined, whether the latest pulse edge is a pulse edge in the middle of a bit or a pulse edge at a bit boundary is determined.
