PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a helmet at a low cost by reducing the size and weight and simplifying the structure. SOLUTION: The helmet 1 is provided with a band member 3 furnished with a head-band adjuster mechanism. The band member 3 has an arc form made of a flexible material and has engaging holes 12 at both end parts 3a. The crown part 2 is composed of an inner crown part 2A made of a light-weight cushioning material such as expanded polystyrene and an outer crown part 2B having the inner shape nearly similar to the outer shape of the inner crown 2A and placed nearly close to the outer face of the inner crown 2A. The inner crown 2A has through-holes 6 penetrating from the inside to the outside at both ends 3a of a band member 3 and engaging protrusions 8 engaging with engaging holes 12 by bending and folding both ends 3a of the band member 3 having penetrated through-holes 6 at about 90°. The outer crown 2B is attached to the inner crown 2A in a state to engage the engaging hole 12 of the band member 3 with the engaging protrusion 8 of the inner crown 2A, the engaging and fixing state of the engaging hole 12 and the engaging protrusion 8 is maintained and the band member 3 is attached to the crown.
