PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment capable of miniaturizing a position detection means to detect a position of a movable part of on-vehicle equipment and capable of detecting the position of the movable part with high precision. SOLUTION: Moving quantity of an actuator of a linearity sensor which is a position detection part is reduced in a moving area of the movable part in which position detecting precision is allowed comparatively low and the moving quantity of the actuator is increased in the moving area for which high position detecting precision is required. Consequently, it is possible to secure required position detecting precision while restraining the moving quantity of the actuator and miniaturizing the position detection means.
