<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an image carrier, in which coupling for connecting various image carriers and various driving means can be connected without making mistakes. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus which transmits the rotation of the driving means to the image carrier, to transfer a toner image to a transfer medium, the driving means 100 and the image carrier 1 are connected by the coupling 150, with the coupling being constituted of a driving-side coupling 120 and an image carrier-side coupling 130 and both the couplings being relatively moved in the direction of the rotating shaft 110 of the driving means, to be connected or disconnected and provided with abutting surfaces 122a and 132a which transmit driving force or to which the driving force is transmitted, respectively. In addition, a projection 128 and a hole 135 are provided at positions different from the abutting surfaces, as an erroneous loading preventing member. By this configuration, the coupling can be connected only when the combination of the image carrier and the driving means is correct, to prevent erroneous loading. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
