<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical detecting apparatus, constituted so that the increase in the outside dimension can be suppressed, the appropriate layout of the apparatus can be attained, even in an image forming apparatus having many spatial constraints, and troubles such as adverse effects on the optical characteristics can be removed. <P>SOLUTION: The optical detecting apparatus for detecting a pattern image formed on an object to be detected includes at least a substrate 76; and an optical sensor 70 constituted of a light-receiving element 71 and a light-receiving element 74 mounted on the substrate and light-shielding members 75 and 77. At least one optical sensor 70 is arranged on the substrate 76 so as to detect the surface of the object to be detected; optical sensor components 78a, 78b and 78c on the substrate are partly stored in the light-shielding members 75 and 77; then increase in the outside dimension of the optical detecting apparatus can be suppressed, and the appropriate layout of the optical detecting apparatus can be attained, even inside the image forming apparatus having many spatial constraints. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
