PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of reasonably ensuring a space for mounting a recording medium while miniaturizing the entire device. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has an imaging element 28 and a medium attaching section 24 to which the recording medium 23 is detachably attached. Where an axis passing through the center of a light-receiving surface 28a of the imaging element and crossing the light-receiving element at right angles is a first axis E, on the cross section viewed from top surface of the imaging device, the medium attaching section is arranged on a first line F perpendicular to the first axis through a furthermost point 20a from the first axis of the outer shape of the imaging device.
