PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still picture imaging apparatus with which a general user can easily perform panning photographing, without blurring of a subject, by making the user performing panning photographing perform an auxiliary camera operation, using an optical hand move compensation function and moving an optical axis shifting lens so as to make a moving subject stand still. SOLUTION: While performing hand move compensation by using the optical blurr compensation function, the optical axis shifting lens is moved so as to make the moving subject stand still to facilitate panning photographing. A move detection means, such as a gyrosensor and movement vector detection of an image, are used to detect the subject. Furthermore, the motion vector of the subject is converted into movement quantity of the optical axis shifting lens, and the optical axis shifting lens is driven by corresponding movement quantity calculated (compensation quantity) simultaneously with shuttering.
