PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film for optical use, having excellent handling performance such as threading property and film breakage resistance in fabrication such as surface treatment and bonding treatment and provide a method for producing the film. SOLUTION: The biaxially drawn film for optical use comprises a resin composition for film containing an amorphous thermoplastic resin. It is produced from a stock film having an elongation percentage of≥1% and≤7% in undrawn state by biaxially drawing the film at a draw ratio of≥1.4 and≤3.0. The biaxially drawn film has a (tensile strength in MD direction)/(tensile strength in TD direction) ratio of 0.9-1.1 and a (flexing fatigue resistance in MD direction)/(flexing fatigue resistance in TD direction) ratio of 0.9-1.1.
