PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer type power supply device with primary side insulated from secondary side which is space-saving and of low cost. SOLUTION: The power supply device is composed of a piezoelectric transformer 1 having a primary side electrode and a secondary side electrode 3 insulated from each other, inputted into the primary side electrode 2 and outputting from the secondary side electrode 3 in order to outputs a lighting power for a load 4; a detection circuit 5 detecting the current flowing through secondary side by a means insulated in terms of direct current; a control circuit 6 which controls the drive condition of the piezoelectric transformer 1 by receiving the output of the detection circuit 5; and a drive circuit 7 which drives the piezoelectric transformer 1 by receiving the output of this control circuit 6.
