PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding device and an image forming device whose device bodies are compact, even when a sheet separating means is disposed to a sheet loading means and a sheet feeding means is disposed to the device body. SOLUTION: The sheet separating means 8b frictionally separates sheets one by one abutted with and fed by the sheet feeding means. The sheet separating means 8b is supported to be movable between a first position where the sheet separating means can be press-contact with the sheet feeding means and a second position where the sheet separating means is separated from the sheet feeding means, by the sheet loading means 2 detachable to the device body in a direction intersecting with a sheet feeding direction. When the sheet loading means 2 is installed, an abutting means disposed to the device body moves the seat separating means to the first position, and while the sheet loading means 2 is inserted into or drawn out of the device body, a guide means disposed to the device body moves the seat separating means from the second position toward the first position.
