PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulley contact face formed of a set thermosetting resin composite, having mechanical strength permitting high load operation for performing accurate and reliable motion transmission to a transmission belt while controlling friction and wear. SOLUTION: The pulley contact face is formed of the thermosetting resin composite which contains a combination of hard spherical particulates working on a base material thermosetting resin containing glass fibers to reduce strength and hard spherical particulates working to increase the strength, the thermosetting resin composite having a tensile strength of 90 MPa or more and a bending strength of 170 MPa or more. It contacts with the transmission belt by friction corresponding to a wear value (mm/min) 2-15 times that of a metal pulley, while maintaining mechanical strength permitting high load operation and working with the transmission belt for accurate and reliable motion transmission thereto.
