PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color projector which permits cost reduction by separating light into respective colors by means of a rotation plate having a simple structure. SOLUTION: The color projector comprises: a first mirror group 11 composed of three dichroic mirrors which separate white light emitted from a lamp 10 respectively into red color R, green color G and blue color B; a rotation slit plate 13 which has a pair of transparent slit parts formed on parts of an opaque disk spaced at an angle of nearly 180°in the circumferential direction and transmits either one color light among respective color light rays separated by the first mirror group 11 via the slit part in accordance with a rotation position; and a second mirror group 12 which is disposed opposite to the respective dichroic mirrors of the first mirror group 11 via the rotation slit plate 13 and is composed of three dichroic mirrors of reflecting red light R, green light G and blue light B, transmitted by the rotation slit plate 13, and of irradiating a DMD 15.
