An apparatus and a method for controlling temperature automatically in an electronic device are provided to prevent the rapid increase of temperature of a power amplifier IC in advance, by controlling an output level of the power amplifier IC. A modulation unit(10) modulates an analog input signal into a pulse width modulation(PWM) signal. An amplification unit(20) amplifies the modulated PWM signal. A detection unit(50) detects a level of the amplified PWM signal. A control unit(60) controls to decrease the amplified level, by controlling the operation of the amplification unit after a predetermined time elapses when the detected level becomes a predetermined level.
