Device for detecting a sampling error in a sampled received signal has the following characteristics: a sampling arrangement (101) for sampling a received signal that has first and second signal sections. The first and second signal sections have a similar section that is sampled. The sampled signals resulting from sampling of the first and second signal sections have a difference and the sampling error is detected based on the sampled first and second signal sections. An independent claim is made for a method for detecting a sampling error in a sampled received signal.
