The invention concerns an electron gun for cathode ray tube comprising, serially aligned along the longitudinal axis (Z) of the gun, a plurality of electrodes one of which at least has a rectangular opening. The large sides of said opening have triangular extensions. The invention is more particularly applicable to electronic guns comprising electrode forming a quadripole and having rectangular openings oriented along an axis (X) for some electrodes and rectangular openings oriented perpendicularly to said axis for other electrodes. The invention is applicable to cathode ray tubes.
