A method for dividing a screen of a car navigation is provided to effectively use a navigation device by dividing one navigation screen into halves according to a driver's request and displaying a navigation image on one screen and various information data image on the other screen. A method for dividing a screen of a car navigation includes the steps of: splitting the screen into a first screen continuously displaying a navigation image and a second screen displaying information data according to a key input signal corresponding to the driver's request while displaying the navigation image on the navigation screen(201,203); continuously displaying the navigation image on the first screen and displaying a menu image on the second screen(205); displaying the corresponding information on the second screen if a menu selection signal is input from the displayed menu image(207,209); and outputting the corresponding information displayed on the second screen in voice.
