A large hot water boiler by combustion of solid fuel is provided to construct the large hot water boiler easily by putting and loading the large amount of solid fuel and properly supplying and burning solid fuel with stepped loading and combustion chambers, to extend the life span of the boiler by conveniently cleaning a heat pipe, and to prevent accidents by filtering ashes with a partition plate and transferring solid fuel with a lifting unit. A large hot water boiler includes a body(14) having a loading chamber(10) having a hopper type bottom part and loading solid fuel, a pipe type combustion chamber(11) vertically communicated with the loading chamber, a hot water chamber(12) storing hot water and an ignition unit, two sets of heat pipes(16) extended from a combustion heat inlet pipe(15) to transfer heat with combustion heat, a complex ashtray unit supported in a frame installed in a lower part of the body and arranged in a lower part of the combustion chamber to crush and shake ashes off, and a blower unit(18) installed outside the body and connected to a discharge port of the heat pipe to forcibly discharge combustion gas. Two protection plates(19) are formed in the combustion chamber and spaced from the inlet of the combustion heat inlet pipe to prevent the large hot water boiler from being blocked against solid fuel.
