The invention relates to a device (22) for mounting an opening panel (18) to the body (10) of a motor vehicle (12). The invention is of the type that comprises means for positioning the opening panel in relation to the body (10) in a determined fitting position which is geometrically defined in a reference trihedral (X, Y, Z) of the body (10). The inventive device is characterised in that the aforementioned positioning means are equipped with a temporary mounting structure (24) comprising: (i) first means (26) for positioning the structure (24) in relation to the body (10), using a first given reference system (X1, Y1, Z1), in a use position in which the structure (24) is solidly connected to the body (10); and (ii) second means (28) which co-operate with complementary means on the opening panel (18) in order to position said opening panel (18), using a second given reference system (X2, Y2, Z2), in the fitting position thereof in relation to the assembly formed by the structure and the body. |
