The malfunction detection system has a simulation segment, simulates the operation of the field device in the arrangement under application of modeling device. An arrangement segment, which arranges actual output data of the field device with simulation output data. Evaluation segment, occurrence of a disturbance of the system determined on the basis of comparative result of arrangement segment. An independent claim is also included for the method for the malfunction detection system.
