A user device controlling device in a home network system and a method thereof are provided to automatically control various devices connected to a home network according to control conditions preset by a user, by referring to user device control information stored in association with the user's ID. A door lock(150) transmits a user ID detected by a card reader or a fingerprint detector to a home server(100)(S10). The home server(100) confirms the user ID, and retrieves/reads device control information stored in association with the user ID, within user device control information. The home server(100) transmits a request command to a digital TV(110) to control that a preset message can be displayed on a screen while the digital TV(110) is turned on(S11).
