A water purifier and a method for operating circulation of purified water using the same are provided to always supply clean and hygienic drinking water free from bacteria to users by always cleanly maintaining a pipe for discharging purified water. A water purifier comprises: a filter part(10) for filtering microorganisms contained in purified water; a cock(20); a pipe(30) for connecting the filter part and the cock; a bypass pipe(40) for bypassing purified water stagnated in the pipe to the filter part; a pump(50) installed on the bypass pipe; a sensor(60) for sensing whether the purified water is discharged or not; and a control part for receiving a sensed signal of the sensor to control the pump. The water purifier further comprises a time sensing means installed in the control part.
