The device has a drive unit (10), a drive spindle (14) and means (16,24) for chucking a rotary tool (20) into the drive spindle. The vibrating means are provided in the form of coating made of elastic material applied to chucking means or the tool or are provided in the form of one or more disks. Disks which are made from elastic material can be inserted between the tool and the chucking means.
