LEVEL SHIFTER, SHIFT REGISTER HAVING THE SAME, AND DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE SAME

A combination of NAND circuit (10), an inverter (INV2), a transistor (P4), a transistor (P5) and a transistor (N6) functions as a disabling means for disabling the circuit operation in accordance with the level of an input initialization signal (INITB). When a low level of the input initialization signal (INITB) is inputted to the NAND circuit (10), all of transistors (P1,P2,N1,N2,N4,N5) are turned off, whereby the steady-state current flowing between a voltage (VDD) and a start signal (SSP) can be cut off and further the steady-state current flowing between the voltage (VDD) and a start reverse signal (SSPB) also can be cut off. That is, independently of the usage pattern, the steady-state currents flowing in the level shifter can be cut off, as occasion requires, with reliability.
