A power control apparatus includes an AC power supply, a load, a triac, a setting part, a sensor part, an ignition angle control part, a trigger part, a zero-cross point detecting part and an odd-numbered wave control part. The setting part sets a predetermined target value related to the control of the load. The sensor part detects, as a real detection value, a value related to the operational status of the load. The ignition angle control part calculates, based on the target value and real detection value, a power (target power) required for the real detection value to get close to the target value, and further calculates a reference ignition angle used for supplying the target power to the load. The odd-numbered wave control part calculates, based on a reference ignition angle signal and a deviation amount table, first and second deviation ignition angles indicative of mutually different angles. The zero-cross point detecting part detects a zero-cross point for each of half waves of an AC power supply current. The odd-numbered wave control part applies, based on the zero-cross points and first and second deviation ignition angles, a signal to the trigger part to ignite the triac.
