An intermediate insertion type nut, wherein the side face of a general nut is cut off to form it in a roughly C-shape, and its cut-off portion is used as a bolt insertion passage. A serrated groove is formed in the insertion passage so that the threads of a bolt can be laterally moved in the insertion passage. Also, a step is formed in a boundary between the insertion passage formed of the serrated groove and the female threads of the nut to prevent the bolt from coming off the nut.
