The invention relates to a genetically-modified micro-organism which can be used to produce 6HNA (6-hydroxynicotinic acid) from NA (nicotinic acid), based on the genetic modification of one or more genes of the nic route, which may be of endogenous or exogenous origin, belonging to the nic group containingnicA, nicB and nicC. The invention also relates to a method of obtaining the aforementioned micro-organism through the manipulation of genes of the nic route. The invention further relates to the use of said micro-organism in a method of obtaining 6HNA under suitable culture conditions. 6HNA is an important precursor in the synthesis of modern insecticides. |
