The invention relates to a method for adjusting optical data reproduction on electronic paper (2) which is unwound from an accommodating housing (1) and is controlled by a control device (4). Said method comprises the following steps: a) dimensions of a reproduction area (6) of the electronic paper (2) currently available for data reproduction are detected; b) data that is currently to be represented two-dimensionally on the optical paper (2) is accessed; c) said data is processed in order to optically reproduce substantially all the data on the currently available reproduction area (6); and d) the currently available reproduction area (6) is triggered in order to reproduce the processed data. Also disclosed is an optical reproduction device that is to be used with the inventive method.
