The device comprises two master cylinders (21,22) connected by hydraulic ducts (23,24) to two slave cylinders used for the control of two clutch units (11,12). The pressure present in one of the hydraulic ducts (23,24) can be relieved by at least one emergency valve (26) facilitating the release of at least one clutch (11,12) in case of an emergency. The emergency valve (26) incorporates a four/two way valve (27) with connections to both ducts (23,24), and to the two relief ducts (34,36).
