#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves producing a sleeve of a functional unit as a sintered body by sintering using a stainless steel as a sintered material and mechanically and/or chemically processing a surface of the produced sleeve. Carbon diffusion is executed for storage of carbon atom in a metal lattice of the sleeve. The sleeve is treated for the carbon diffusion in a carbon-containing atmosphere e.g. protective gas atmosphere, at a temperature. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used for producing a functional unit for a wrist watch. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method produces the functional unit with high firmness and hardness in a simple manner.
