The saw blade or tool body (1) has a seat (12) for the hard metal tooth (2). A pin is mounted on the seat to project away from the base surface of same and run parallel to the rear face. The hard metal tooth has a blind hole with the same cross sectional shape as the pin so that it can be fitted onto same and fixed to the blade through welding or adhesive. The hard metal tooth can be made by form pressing and sintering.
