PURPOSE: A correspondence information compressing method and system are provided to reduce the quantity of correspondence information and maintain picture quality of intermediate frames. CONSTITUTION: A correspondence information compressing method includes a step of reading a primitive map file(MFA) that describes a correspondence pixel of the second image with respect to the first image pixel, and a step of splitting the first image into meshes and leaving a correspondence pixel only for the image corresponding to the peak of each mesh to compress the primitive map file and generating a simplified map file(MFB) that describes the correspondence pixel relatively rapidly. The simplified map file generating step irregularly splits the meshes.
