Disclosed is a method for commercially producing a spiroaminopyrrolidone derivative as an intermediate for a quinolone antibacterial agent. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing a compound represented by the formula (2) below wherein a compound represented by the formula (1) below is processed in a hydrogen gas atmosphere in the presence of a metal catalyst. (1) (In the formula (1), n represents a number of 2-5; R¹ represents a (substituted) alkyl group or a (substituted) aryl group; R² represents a (substituted) alkoxycarbonyl group, a (substituted) aralkyloxycarbonyl group, a (substituted) aliphatic acyl group or a (substituted) aromatic acyl group; and R³ represents a hydrogen atom, a (substituted) alkyl group or a (substituted) aralkyl group.)
