Device for insulating a web treatment roll (1) comprises an insulating insert (5) that can be displaced within a peripheral tempering channel (3) of the roll, an adjuster (15) for displacing the insert, a force transmission element (10) between the adjuster and insert. The transmission element is flexible and forms a curve. An independent claim is also included for a web treatment roll comprising a roll body with a tempering channel fitted with an insulating device as above.
