<p>The valve timing control device for an internal combustion engine has a locking mechanism which, in dependence upon a hydraulic pressure which is fed to a hydraulic control section (4), is displaced from a locking state, preventing a relative rotation of a driven component (3) with regard to a driving component (1), into an unlocking state in order to allow a relative rotation, via a ready state to prepare for the unlocking state without enabling the relative rotation of the driven and driving components. An independent claim is included for an internal combustion engine equipped with the aforesaid valve timing control device.</p> |
