In a method of correcting image data output from each of photo-sensors forming a plurality of line sensors arranged in a first direction, one of the plurality of line sensors is determined as a reference line sensor, and another line sensor adjacent to the reference line sensor is determined as an object line sensor to be corrected. A larger correction value is given to the image data value output from photo-sensor in the object line sensor nearer to an end of the reference line sensor facing the object line sensor.
