The invention relates to a sorting conveyor provided with tilting bowls consisting of trucks ( 2 ) coupled to each other and transporting carrying bowls ( 8 ) which are tilted in the unloading position thereof by a rotary drive arranged on the truck ( 2 ). Said drive is connected by the free lower end thereof to a swinging lever ( 9 ) which extends downwards and rotates around a pivot axis arranged on the truck. Said lever carries the bowl ( 8 ) by the opposite top end thereof. According to the invention, the rotary drive is fixed to the free lower end of the swinging lever and provided with an electric motor ( 11 ) modifying the direction of rotation, and a tooth pinion ( 12 ) which is actuated by said motor and provided with an axis of rotation parallel to the pivot axis ( 7 ). Said pinion meshes with a rack gear ( 13 ) which is fixed to the truck in a perpendicular direction with respect to a displacement direction and equidistantly arranged with respect to the pivot axis ( 7 ) of the bearing bowl ( 8 ) and whose bend corresponds at least to a maximum angle of the swinging lever which is necessary for tilting the carrying bowl ( 8 ) in the unloading position thereof.
