A sling is formed by plaiting together separate lengths A of round wire rope intermediate their ends to form a flat plaited length, and splicing the ends flat into the plaited rope to form eyes E the axes of which are parallel to the flat plaiting. As illustrated, six lengths A of wire rope are plaited in pairs by passing each outer pair in turn over the middle pair without twisting. The eyes are seized by wire F.</p> |
